Radford University—Haley Jean Race
Haley Race is a junior attending Radford University in Virginia where she is pursuing a BFA in Dance Performance and a BS in Elementary Education. With a GPA of 3.8, she is a member of Phi Sigma Pi (Co-Ed National Honor Fraternity), the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, and Harmony in Motion (student dance organization).
Dancing with the Radford University Dance Theatre, Haley performs soloist and demi-soloist roles in classical ballet, contemporary ballet, jazz, and tap dance productions. She was selected to perform for the NY Jazz Choreography Project in New York City in April 2014. She has served for two years as a counselor for the Radford University Ballet Youth (RUBY) International Summer Intensive Program.
Haley began studying all forms of dance at the age of 6 with the Abigail Francisco School of Classical Ballet in Maryland where she performed in classics such as The Nutcracker, Paquita, Les Sylphides, Sylvia, La Bayadere, and Coppelia. As a member of the AFSCB Youth Ensemble, she performed at many local and regional charitable events. While a student at Huntingtown High, she served as both instructor and choreographer for the Advanced Dance class, was co-captain of the Dance Team, and was named Maryland High School Emerging Artist. Haley has attended workshops and intensives at AFSCB, Goucher College, Radford University, Steps on Broadway in New York City, and the American College Dance Festival held at George Mason University.
