E. John Busser Ballet Scholarship Celebrating Fifteenth Year!

It all started 15 years ago with one man wanting to honor an idea of his beloved mother’s.  Mr. Busser began very small by awarding one scholarship to a local ballet dancer recommended by the Director of a local ballet school.  Noting that he could do more fundraising and help more young dancers, Mr. Busser created the 501(c)(3) designation for the program.  This step allowed Mr. Busser to continue to expand the scholarship awards not only in Cleveland but across the country as well.

Year after year, the Scholarship program has grown with recipients now representing four (4) continents and dozens of young dancers being able to continue chasing their dreams.  We are blessed to announce several former Scholarship Recipients are currently professional ballerinas, Trainees or Apprentices with major ballet companies or are training at world-renowned ballet schools. You can learn more about each recipient by checking out our “Recipients” page.

We are so happy to reflect on these past, amazing 15 years as well as look forward to what the next 15 years will hold!   As we continue to grow our presence and build our endowment, our goal is to continue to expand our reach as well as our level of support for these young dancers.

Thank you for your interest and support of the program – past, present and future.
